The City of Joliet is seeking a qualified candidate to perform a variety of routine/complex technical work in building inspection to insure IBC and other related codes/standards are met. Candidates must have 3 years work experience in design, construction or inspection of buildings or an equivalent combination of experience; completed an accredited apprenticeship program with the Department of Labor or worked as a Journeyman Electrician or Electrical Inspector for 5 years. Must possess a valid driver’s license and establish residency in the City of Joliet corporate limits within eighteen (18) months from date of hire. Salary range: $53,829 - $97,496. School Crossing Guard
|The City of Joliet is accepting applications for part-time school Crossing Guards. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license, good driving record, and reliable means of transportation. Successful candidates must be able to work with school children, and have NO Criminal History. Salary is $32.00 to $44.00 per day/NO BENEFITS. Applications are currently being accepted.|
Opportunities for Unpaid Internships
The City of Joliet has limited opportunities for unpaid internships for college students. The internship request will only be considered with the following conditions: the assignment will satisfy school requirements for completion of specific course work or graduation in a field relevant to public administration; and whether the City has an appropriate work assignment, dependent upon the student’s educational major.
